APS to VisualAge Generator Migration

In 2001 we developed an APS to VisualAge Generator migration tool, which offered APS users the opportunity take up VisualAge Generator without sacrificing the considerable investment in their APS code base.

Moving to VisualAge Generator offers many advantages, including a desktop development and testing environment, the ability to target many languages and platforms with little or no change to the applications, and perhaps most significantly, the opportunity to Web-enable existing applications.

Our tool achieves a 95% automation of the translation process, and offers a less costly, reduced risk solution.

The basic translation process provides a conversion from an APS CICS to VAGen CICS architecture, however we also have tools to help us convert VAGen CICS applications to Web Transactions, and offer this as part of the process, if required.
